The small office and home office (SOHO) market plays a critical role in the current and future Canadian economy. SOHO heavily relies on software-defined networking to provide centralized network control alongside facilities for efficient network configuration and monitoring. With the unprecedented reliance of businesses and the society at large on the Internet, reliable connectivity in SOHO has become a must. This project will develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled approach for the automatic derivation and operationalization of adaptation rules in SOHO networks. Our research is the first attempt at scientifically applying AI - more specifically machine learning and evolutionary algorithms - for making SOHO networks self-adaptive. The project will be a bilateral partnership between the University of Ottawa and RabbitRun Technologies: an Ontario-based SME, manufacturing innovative SOHO networking products. The main outcome of the project will be a scientifically designed and evaluated solution that brings self-adaptivity to SOHO networks through the application of advanced AI techniques. The solution is in response to observed industrial needs, thus bearing the potential for direct impact on the already large and thriving SOHO market. To demonstrate its practical usefulness and alignment with market needs, the developed solution will be benchmarked on real-world industrial scenarios.
我们的研究是首次尝试科学地应用AI(更具体地说的机器学习和进化算法)来使SOHO网络自适应。
