This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The Administrative Core manages the COBRE program with regard to fiscal issues, and oversees a program of mentoring and recruitment. This includes implementing a mentoring program for target faculty, recruiting and supporting new, tenure-track faculty, and establishing mechanisms for the smooth transitioning of target faculty and new hires. As existing projects achieve their goals of faculty development and scientific productivity, the Core ensures that target faculty are "weaned" away from COBRE funds, and replaced with new hires.
