The electrochemical basis for many processes in the materials and metallurgical engineering fields are now well established and the literature continues to provide interesting studies on the application of electrochemical theory to the understanding of the mechanisms of such processes, the use of electrochemical techniques to study them and expand industrial applications of electrochemistry. In this NSERC Discovery Grant proposal, two areas of investigations have been selected for consideration. They are the development and application of conductive polymers as coatings for anodes in aqueous electrowinning (EW), and corrosion of materials at high temperature and pressure (HT/HP).
