项目摘要
Conwright's project fits perfectly with the themes, vision, and grandchallenges outlined in the Security, Conflict and Justice pathway.Specifically, this PhD project takes an innovative approach to the analysisof contemporary cultural artefacts and their impact on racial politics.Conwright's project interrogates important concepts such as 'nationality','race', and 'ethnicity' within a global context of rising white nationalism andfar-right extremism, which have also become worrying features ofracialised social conflict (and reactive public policies) in the case studycontext of the UK. In doing so, he goes beyond some of the more siloedresearch conducted in cultural studies and international relations topromote an important interdisciplinary inquiry at the micro, meso-, andmacro-level of politics. For instance, his project raises questions about howemotions mediate personal responses to racial political narratives; howcultural artefacts provoke inter-group conflict and resolution; and ultimatelyhow cultural artefacts might operate adjacent to public policy initiativesaimed at improving racial justice and social harmony. Conwright's project isalso inherently sensitive to the individualised experiences of those whoconsume affective narratives about race and politics, and he seeks tobreak new ground by capturing that diversity through nuanced theoreticaland empirical work.
Conwright's project fits perfectly with the themes, vision, and grandchallenges outlined in the Security, Conflict and Justice pathway.Specifically, this PhD project takes an innovative approach to the analysisof contemporary cultural artefacts and their impact on racial politics.Conwright's project interrogates important concepts such as 'nationality','race', and 'ethnicity' within a global context of rising white nationalism andfar-right extremism, which have在英国的案件研究局案中,也成为种族歧视的社会冲突(以及反应性的公共政策)的令人担忧的特征。
