Digital Photonics -Paradigm Shift in Optoelectronics

In order to shift the optoelectronics from the analog to the digital technology domain, we have studied and developed all optical logic gate devices, all optical flip-flop devices, large scale optical switch circuits, non-reciprocal and polarization controlling optical devices, and optical buffer memory integrated circuits. Based on these components, we demonstrated prototypes of digital photonic integrated circuits. Integration process technologies for fabricating these photonic devices and circuits have also been investigated.
