项目摘要

To clarify the relationship between biological age and lifestyle, the joint research between Wakayama Medical University in Japan and Mahidol University in Thailand was conducted. The subjects were 348 males and 707 females Thai. The clinical examinations, the questionnaire for lifestyle habits, the upper limit of hearing for sensory functions and acceleration plethysmogram (APG) for circulatory functions were carried out. In older ages, the percentage of obese female subjects was high, while, in the hematological exam, those who demonstrated high cholesterol and triglyceride were predominant. Moreover, the air conduction hearing at both 1kHz and 4kHz declined as age advanced in both males and females. The percentage of subjects who paid attention to the balance of their meals tended to be higher in the present than in the past. The percentage of subjects who drank alcohol and smoked was higher in males and in the younger age group. However, the percentage of subjects who presently smo … More ked was lower than those who did in the past. The upper limit of hearing declined as age advanced in both males and females. In a comparison between males and females, the threshold changed in almost the same manner until the 50s age group. Thereafter, the decline was gentler in females. APG gradually declined with aging, and the levels were higher in males. Subjects who had a past history of head injury, experience with handling explosive substance, or those who had a history of otitis media and head noise demonstrated a low upper limit of hearing, which indicated that the biological age of their sensory function tended to be low. In males, the APG-Index was low in subjects who smoked, which indicated that the biological age of the circulatory function was high. Aged female subjects with a low APG-Index, namely those with a high biological age of the sensory function, demonstrated high systolic blood pressure. It was demonstrated biological age and lifestyle habits were correlated and that a healthier lifestyle should exert beneficial effects on biological age. Less
