Sport-Travel is an industry leader in tournament and event management. Located in London, Ontario,Sport-Travel has been serving youth, amateur sports, and event management industries for over twenty years.Currently, Sport-Travel has approximately 10-15 years of data from their proprietary hotel reservation platformwithin the sports travel industry. However, to fully leverage the data to better understand and market toSport-Travel core customers, improve efficiencies, and provide more customized offerings, Sport-travel needsto clean the data and develop a data strategy. In collaboration, Sport-Travel and Lambton College Information Technology and Communication ResearchCentre (ITCRC) will focus on developing Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Machine Learning (M.L.)forecasting models to better predict future operations and processes. To do this, the team will focus on datacleaning, data preparation, and visualization as well as investigate and test forecasting algorithms to find themost appropriate model for the final product. The success of the proposed collaborative project will provide Sport-Travel with a data strategy that will helpto increase revenue and reduce costs. Specifically, the developed A.I. and M.L. forecasting models will provideSport-Travel with a greater understanding of the market across North America to offer more customized traveloptions based on customers' unique profiles. Sport-Travel will also be able to leverage the available data toindustry suppliers to identify new revenue generation through advertisements and sponsorships and improveinternal efficiencies by understanding rate averages and usage patterns. Indeed, the ability to effectively useSport-Travel's data will lead to both increased market share and job creation in the coming years
