This research employs a mixed methods research design to investigate the effectiveness of online journal clubs as a signature pedagogy for improving participants' educational research literacy. In the first year of the project, significant milestones were achieved. These included conducting a comprehensive literature review on educational research literacy and developing a functional event management system using Moodle, which can be accessed at https://researchic.com. Additionally, 15 online journal clubs (https://researchic.com/course/index.php?categoryid=23) were organized on ResearchIC.com, where global educational researchers shared their experience of reading educational research literature. The sharing sessions were recorded with videos and served as source data for an interview-based research, which investigates good practices of scientific reading among educational researchers. The project also experimented with integrating ChatGPT on ResearchIC.com to explore the integration of cutting-edge technologies. As a result of this effort, one preprint was published on SSRN, which was listed on SSRN's Top Ten download list for #EduRN.All of the aforementioned efforts resulted in the publication of four papers, one research poster, one keynote presentation, and one invited talk in five different international conferences. In addition, two international research collaborations with researchers from Japan, Austria, and China were initiated, with the aim of producing more research outputs in the coming year.
