Research on primate behavior under natural setting showed a tremendous progress by adoption of a technique to identify each individual monkeys through observers eyes. However, this method has several difficulties for the analysis of learning process in monkeys troop. It is difficult to record precisely when and who made a response and to change the program of learning task accord with performance of individual members. Further, continuous observation for 24 hours by human observer is impossible.In order to overcome these difficulties a computerized electric device for identifying each individual monkeys has been developed by this project. The identifying device can discriminate ten different monkey collars which are located in the sensing field of 30X30X30 cm. A new feeder for monkey chow and an MSX-computer system for experimental control were also developed.

关于自然环境下灵长类动物行为的研究表明，通过采用一种通过观察者眼睛识别每个猴子的技术，取得了巨大的进步。但是，这种方法在猴子部队中的学习过程分析遇到了一些困难。很难准确记录何时何时以及谁做出回应，并与个人成员的表现更改学习任务程序。此外，不可能通过人类观察者进行24小时的持续观察。为了克服这些困难，该项目已经开发了用于识别每种猴子的计算机电动设备。识别装置可以区分位于30x30x30 cm的传感场中的十个不同的猴子项圈。还开发了一种用于猴子Chow的新馈线和用于实验控制的MSX计算机系统。
