The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT Polytechnic)'s NSERC-IRCC program in Oil Sands In-Situ Steam Generation and Clean Technologies has been established in partnership with the energy industry. The program's goal is to research, develop, assess and disseminate best industry practices in the steam-water cycle process associated with OTSGs to: make crucial reductions in fresh water usage; increase energy and water efficiency while supporting cleaner energy production and implement decarbonization and greenhouse gas emission reduction with clean technologies (CT). Outcomes are expected to provide critical real-world solutions to consistently demonstrate superior environmental performances in Canada's cleaner energy production and clean technology innovations.
