项目摘要

The Center for Research on Environmental Disease (CRED) has an Administrative Core comprised of Director Dr. John DiGiovanni, Deputy Director Dr. Michael C. MacLeod, and Associate Directors Dr. John Richburg and Dr. Melissa Bondy, who have overall responsibility for management of the Center. As Director, Dr. DiGiovanni has primary responsibility for communicating with NIEHS on all organizational and financial matters of the Center. He is assisted in this capacity by SPRD Operations Manager Kimberley Boedy, Senior Administrative Assistant Sydni McGahan, and Senior Secretary Stephanie Bencomo. Ms. Boedy serves as the business manager for the CRED and is responsible for the fiscal aspects of the Center, as more fully described below. Ms. McGahan, who has been with the CRED since 2000 and currently serves as the Center Administrator, provides assistance to the Director in the day-to-day management of CRED activities as well as to Core Leaders and CRED members on various matters. Ms. McGahan also coordinates Center activities with NIEHS staff and other NIEHS centers. Her responsibilities include collection and maintenance of CRED records, dissemination of CRED-related information, preparation of reports and meeting minutes, production of the CRED newsletter, and arrangement of meetings of the Executive Committee, Internal Advisory Committee, External Advisory Committee as well as arrangements for Center Retreats, CRED-sponsored scientific symposia, Facility Core workshops, and travel for CRED seminar speakers. In the next funding period, Ms. Bencomo will focus on the off-site components in Houston and Austin, handling all travel arrangements and directly supporting the Associate Directors, Drs. Bondy and Richburg. She will also collect and maintain data on the utilization of Facility Cores as well as back up Ms. McGahan, especially in seminars, conferences, symposia, meetings and videoconferences. Ms. Bencomo will also provide secretarial support for the EHS Career Development Program, providing assistance to Drs. Hursting and Fuchs-Young in preparing reports and documents, handling travel arrangements, and collecting and maintaining data related to workshops, short courses and mentoring programs.
