According to the French modern thought, especially to the philosophy of Georges Bataille and Michel Foucault, I reconsidered several aspects of the Occidental medieval culture and pointed out their unexplored characteristics. Particularly in the field of Theology, Literature and Iconography, I presented the influences of indescribable affections animating creators and appreciators in the Middle Ages. The contemporary significance of this study consists in two suggestions. It suggests that the modern historical studies should reflect on their positivistic method based exclusively on the literal documents and that, for understanding our contemporary cultures, we should give flexible and patient attention to human dark affections, which are too contradictory and changeable to be seized by the literal expression.

根据法国现代思想，尤其是对乔治·巴塔耶（Georges Bataille）和米歇尔·福柯（Michel Foucault）的哲学，我重新考虑了西方中世纪文化的几个方面，并指出了他们未开发的特征。尤其是在神学，文学和肖像学领域，我介绍了使中世纪的创造者和欣赏者动画的难以形容的感情的影响。这项研究的当代意义包括两个建议。它表明，现代历史研究应仅基于字面文献反映其实证主义方法，并且为了理解我们的当代文化，我们应该对人类的黑暗情感提出灵活和耐心的关注，而人类的黑暗情感过于矛盾，而这太矛盾了，无法通过文字表达来夺取。
