1. Bovine serumalbumin (BSA) and haemoglobin were used as the experimental material for protein solution.They have almost the same molecular weight (MW) but isoelectric points (IP) of them, in which zeta-potential representing surface electric charge of protein is zero, were different : MW=67,000, IP=4.8 for BSA, and MW=68,000.IP=6.8 for haemoglobin. For ultrafiItration membrane, a polymeric membrane of which MW cut off is 50,000 was used. The zeta-potentials of proteins and membrane were investigated with varying pH of protein solution and liquid permeating through the membrane. UltrafiItaration and electro-ultrafiItration were discussed on the basis of the zeta-potential data.2.
