As the Chinese proverb says "Nan-chuan-bei-ma", the transportation by ship was very important for the people in both Jiang-nan and Jiang-bei from old times. In this paper, the transportation in the Qing Dynasty is discussed from the viewpoint of water transportation based on the "Dang'an" materials. Especially the research on the Canal. Jiangnan and Jiangbei, Suzhou, Sichuan Province has been discussed from the viewpoint of the history with transportation systems. The vessels engaged in the transportation in the Great Canal in the Qing Dynasty carried ahout 500 shi of rice each and sailed at the average of 27.6 li a day. When they returned to the south with no load they sailed at the average of 43 li a day about 1.6 times faster than when they had rice on board. More than 4000 vessels sailed in the Great Canal a year. from Hunan, Hubei, Juangi, Zhejiang, Jiangnan, Henan, Shandong Provinces to Tianjin and Tongzhou. Hang- … More chuan was generally used as a kind of shared service vehicle in the body of water in Jiang-nan, and as an agency that engaged in the mail order business as well as in the transport of passengers. Hang-chuan regularly came and went between the specific places. so it was also called "Ban-chuan". It took about four or five days to travel between Su-zhou and Shanghai by "Hang-chuan". However it has contributed to transport both many people and a large quantity of commodities. Those ships were utilized not only for both public and private use. Ships were used mainly as means of traffic facilities, transportation and communication. For public use, those ships in the body of water in Jiang-nan were used for carrying public money and commodities to each agency, or, for conveying government officials. For private use, people transported goods, traveled by ship and delivered private letters by using the waterways. 俗话说“南川北马”,自古以来,水运对于江南和江北的人民来说都是非常重要的。本文主要讨论清代的交通运输。以《党安》资料为基础,从水运的角度,从交通系统的历史角度对江南、江北的四川苏州进行了探讨。清代在大运河上从事运输的人,每人载米约500石,平均每天航行27.6里,空载南返时,平均每天航行约43里。一年有4000多艘船只从湖南、湖北、江吉、浙江等地航行。江南、河南、山东至天津、通州的“杭船”是江南各地普遍使用的一种水域共享服务车辆。江南,又是从事邮购业务和旅客运输的机构,定期往返于特定地点之间,故又称“航船”。 “班船”从苏州到上海大约需要四五天的时间,但它不仅运送了很多人,还运送了大量的货物。公共和私人用途的船舶主要用作交通设施、运输和通讯工具。 公共用途,江南水域中的船舶用于向各机构运送公共资金和商品。用于运送政府官员、人员。可以说,运河运输对四川省苏州地区的江南、江北地区的发展起到了重要的作用。
