In the spring and fall semesters of 2022, intervention studies were conducted in over 11 General English classes and with nearly 200 student participants (in their first and second years). Students in the intervention courses took part in weekly multi-modal assignments using Moodle, in which students practiced developing and expressing opinions about international topics. Students in the control group received no such practice. All students filled in the International Posture (IP) survey in the first and last class meeting of each semester. Results were analyzed statistically to identify whether the activities increased students' IP scores. Non-parametric analyses were employed. For the first semester, no statistical differences were identified in terms of IP gains in both the intervention and control groups. However, through background information gathered on the surveys it was found that students' experiences using English outside of classes in high school correlated with IP more strongly than experience abroad. Data collected in the fall semester is currently undergoing statistical analysis.
