Project SummaryThis project supports the activities of the Construction and Building subcommittee of the National Science and Technology Council. Thirteen federal agencies including NSF, Participate in the subcommittee meetings. The subcommittee holds meetings monthly at the White House conference Center in Washington, D.C. The subcommittee secretariat coordinates federalarticipation in the Presidential initiative-partnership for the Advancement of Technology in Housing (a partnership between the public sector, industry and academia). The project provides support for and assists in a national Conference of States on Building Codes and Standards effect to collect and analyze case studies on streamlining the building regulatory process and promote their use where needed. NSF has supported the activities of the Construction and Building Subcommittee since 1994.
