With the rapid development of communication technology, computer technology and vehicle technology, the Internet of Things, the Internet and the Internet of Vehicles have gradually formed and been widely applied. Passengers, drivers, dispatchers, vehicles, roads, travel environments and the cloud have been efficiently connected, and emerging technologies such as intelligent connected vehicles and autonomous driving have flourished. A huge amount of spatio-temporal big data has been generated and obtained, and the development of urban transportation has entered a new era of technology. At the same time, under the guidance of sustainable development goals, emerging concepts such as Mobility as a Service and shared mobility are gradually subverting the existing urban transportation operation scenarios and operation management models with the development of emerging technologies. Relevant theoretical research and practical discussions will be the development direction and research focus in the field of urban transportation management and service for some time to come. Based on summarizing the opportunities and challenges of urban transportation development, this paper first analyzes new ideas for solving urban transportation management and service problems in the new technology era. Subsequently, it comprehensively summarizes and reviews the latest research achievements in the field of urban transportation management and service from three aspects: transportation big data, shared mobility and connected autonomous driving. Finally, it sorts out the relevant research directions of urban transportation management and service in the new technology era.
