Parmi les patients se presentant dans les centres de traitement pour toxicomanes, une minorite importante souffre d'affections psychiatriques non liees a la drogue: angoisse, panique, troubles de l'affectivite. Quinze a trente pour cent sont atteints de depression majeure, parmi les utilisateurs d'opiaces, tandis que 30% des cocainomanes souffrent de depressions bipolaires ou de cyclothymie, et de troubles de l'attention
在前往戒毒治疗中心的患者中，有相当一部分人患有与毒品无关的精神疾病：焦虑、惊恐、情感障碍。在鸦片类药物使用者中，有15%到30%患有重度抑郁症，而30%的可卡因成瘾者患有双相抑郁症或环性心境障碍以及注意力障碍。
