项目摘要

Malposition of the tongue is recognized as a possible cause of malocclusion, yet there has been no optimal system to measure its position and pressure for long hours during daily activities. A wireless telemeter system was fabricated in order to measure the tongue position and pressure in openbite patients for long hours in natural condition.Lip and tongue pressures were measured by the high sensitive micro-pressure gauges embedded into the thin plastic plates on the upper and lower dental arches. Head posture was evaluated by the inclination meter. The data were transmitted by the wireless signals from a portable processor to the data input system so that the subjects did not need to stay at the laboratory and were able to go around.The results obtained were as follows :l) Tongue contact at the stable case did not change or decreased post-surgically. On the other hand, unstable case showed increasing of it.(p<0.01)2) Tongue contact of the patient who received glossectomy did not change post-surgically.3) Great degree of head flexion corresponded to a larger contact and pressure of the tongue.(p<0.0 1)4) The pressure of open bite cases were slightly lower than that of normalocclusions5)The contact pressure was increased significantly by the applying of MFT.Especially, the pressure and contact were highly increased at the anterior palateregion.(p<0.05)A newly developed wireless telemeter system is useful to detect the tongue contact and pressure during daily activities. And the results suggest that the contact and pressure to the dentition might be one of the important factors to keep a good occlusion after the orthognathic surgery.
