We think the pencil is an old tool. But, it was brought to Japan around 150 years ago, so it was not older than the brush. In Japanese art history, it is a new tool and caused new painting. Especially ones who started to learn western style painting used them. Because materials of oil painting or watercolor painting were expensive, they could not buy the materials. So, they painted anyone by a pencil. I find the artworks were one of the new potential for Japanese art history at that time.

我们认为铅笔是一种旧工具。但是，它大约在150年前被带到日本，所以它并不比刷子大。在日本艺术史上，这是一种新工具，并引起了新的绘画。特别是那些开始学习西方风格绘画的人使用了它们。由于油画或水彩画的材料很昂贵，因此无法购买材料。因此，他们用铅笔画了任何人。我发现艺术品当时是日本艺术史的新潜力之一。
