Big amounts of anthropogenic heat are released through air conditioners, plants, vehicles, and other heat sources in urban areas due to the high human density and density of buildings, as well as the heat that is retained and radiated by these big, intricate structures. The objective of this study is to evaluate the influences of building composition on land surface temperature (LST) in the Tsukuba city and Tokyo central area, as well as to investigate any potential anthropogenic elements that may be causing these influences. Previous studies usually took the grid as a unit to analyze the LST distribution. This study focuses on each building and its surrounding condition (45m buffer) to investigate the building LST and its relationship with other anthropogenic variables. Similar to previous findings, our study found that the LST was mainly focused on the building distribution and population density. And it was observed that the LST decreased following the increasing of vegetation cover in Tsukuba central area. This result is, in contrast to a previous study, that the LST is not increased with building volume. This is the result of the urban planning in which the building and green space are interspersed with each other in Tsukuba city. The results of the research were presented at the 5th Asian Conference on Geography on September 5th, 2022 and the 2nd Workshop of Asian Young Geographers on November 30th,2022. The above research results have been presented at two international conferences and accepted in five international and domestic academic journals.
